Once all piglets have received colostrum, the sow’s milk can be best supplemented with Elitemilk Pigi Yoghurt.
ELITEMILK PIGI
A milk replacer based on skimmed milk and whey powder. Ideal for use as a supplement to the sow’s milk during the first few days after farrowing
VILOMILK BASIC
A milk replacer composed of quality ingredients. Good at ensuring high energy intake in the baby unit and for the smallest weaners. Ideal for mixing with a prestarter to increase the content of lactose and energy.
BABYMILK 18/18
Babymilk 18/18 is a tasty supplement based on milk to smooth the transition from the sow’s milk to solid feed in the early weaning unit. Ideal for mixing into weaning feed, such as milk soup or as a top dressing in long feeding troughs.
TIPS FOR MANUAL MIXING OF MILK REPLACERS:
Offer milk in small portions from 12 hours after birth
The milk powder must be thoroughly stirred to eliminate lumps.
Mixing is easiest at 45-55 degrees C
Offer in a bowl twice a day
Adjust daily amount to ensure that the piglets empty the bowl within a couple of hours
Offer a prestarter from day 5 alongside the milk
Milk replacer for milk cup systems
Supplying milk via milk cup feeding systems can be a good booster in the farrowing unit, but still requires attention from the personnel.
